Our Biomarker Projects with Epigenetics
In this project, scholars explore the groundbreaking field of epigenetics, focusing on how gene expression can change without altering the underlying DNA sequence. This area of study has significant implications for cancer research and personalized treatment approaches. Using datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and R programming scripts, scholars investigate the connection between DNA methylation and gene expression in lung cancer. Specifically, they analyze the methylation patterns of the HOX genes and their correlation with cancer, providing valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms that could inform future therapeutic strategies.
